This Beowulf unit plan is designed for an active classroom. You will find the lessons to be engaging and real-world driven. To keep my students actively reading, I try to incorporate a change of pace every 15 minutes. I call these “reading respites,” and they are built into this unit with a detailed plan cueing you when to stop and do an activity. These activities will work with ANY Beowulf translation though I based them off of the abridged Burton Raffel version.

*****Newly added Aug 2016: This unit is now digital classroom ready! Not only will you receive the traditional paper versions of activities, but you will also get each activity in a digital format to where students can type directly on each page! The digital activities work with Google Classrooms, Microsoft OneDrive, Canvas, and more! So whether you are going one to one now or in the future, this unit will be a huge time-saver! :)
